We have to be able to walk over the tiles by the laundry room and we have to make custom cuts for the entire length of the wall.

Our wall also has a weird curve in the middle, so not every tile can be cut ahead of time 🙃

DIY Flooring Update: lunch breaks don’t exist

Instead of taking my time to eat, I ate quickly so I had more time remove the trim in the living room 😅

We’re almost done with my office and the living room is next on the list. I prepped by removing the trim and nails from the walls.

The LVP is easy to pick up once we start prepping. And the blue membrane only takes about an hour to dry before we can start mixing mortar.

They installed luxury vinyl planks over the concrete foundation. No moisture barrier, random holes in the foundation, tons of loose nails/screws under the trim. While painting the trim, I also sanded and painted the grey baseboards for the entrance of the closet. We also had to buy quarter round. There wasn’t any because we started with carpet.
